Our program celebrates the vibrant world of Indian traditional and folk arts through an enriching combination of dance, music, and creative expression. From the elegant movements of Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam to the thumping rhythms of folk dance, and from the melodic notes of the violin and thabala to the soulful Karnataka Sangeetham notes, students experience cultural heritage. Along with it, training in visual arts and the dramatic telling of Kathakali provides depth to their artistic journey.
Cultural Arts Program Overview
DANCE
Experience the refinement of traditional and classic Indian dance genres. From Bharatanatyam’s gracefulness, Mohiniyattam’s fluid moves, and the dramatic style of Kuchipudi, to the exuberance of Folk Dance, there is a specific cultural experience behind every form.
INSTRUMENTS
Learn to play a range of classical and modern instruments. Whether it’s soulful Violin, multi-purpose Keyboard, rhythmic beats of Thabala and Mridangam, or the robust Chenda, every
instrument cultivates musical artistry and craftsmanship.
VOCAL
Experience the realm of Karnataka Sangeetham, a rich tradition of classical vocals in melody and rhythm. This training aids in voice control, pitch precision, and an intimate knowledge of Indian music.
ART & CRAFT
Unlock imagination with Pencil Drawing & Painting. This course fosters creative
expression and teaches techniques in sketching, shading, and color mixing.
KADHAKALI
Explore the majesty of Kathakali, the classical dance-drama with elaborate costumes and dramatic storytelling. The course also features
Kathakali Sangeetham, the distinctive music that addsto its dramatic appeal.

Kalanilayam Krishnakumar
Coordinator, Bharatha School of Classical Arts
A renowned Kathakali Chenda artist, Kalanilayam Krishnakumar has performed on numerous prestigious stages and continues to share his expertise by training many aspiring students in the traditional art form.
Sreedharan Mannarmala
Principal
A skilled Carnatic musician with a degree from Kerala Kalamandalam and a postgraduate degree from the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. He received rigorous training under renowned gurus Melatoor Sahadevan and Cheppad A. E. Vamanan Namboothiri. Actively involved in concerts and devotional music festivals, he is also a dedicated teacher, imparting his knowledge to students at Bharata for the past five years.
AKHIL BHASKAR
Office Admin, Chenda Artist
Participated in the Kerala School Kalolsavam in Chenda Thayambaka at the state level in 2017. In 2018, competed in both Thayambaka and Chenda Melam at the state level and went on to win 2nd prize in Chenda Thayambaka at the National Kala Utsav held in Delhi. In 2019, continued participation in Thayambaka and Chenda Melam, earning an A Grade at the state level.

An accomplished musician, Anand Krishnan C has been actively performing both as a solo artist and as an accompanist for Carnatic concerts, fusion music ensembles, and classical dance performances.

A dedicated and versatile dancer, Athira Maneesh has performed both solo and in group productions across various classical and traditional styles. She is trained in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi, and also showcases her talent in Nadodinritham (Folk Dance), Kerala Nadanam, Cinematic Dance, Thiruvathira, and more.
